Case Study: Avon Cooke

Project : Replacement of Failing Structure
Project Location: Salisbury Cathedral Close
River System: River Avon
Client: Private Client
Date of Installation: October 2005

Project details:

March 2005: large erosional holes behind the existing boarding made the river bank un-safe

October 2005: The new sustainable low level river bank front

Project Brief

Replace the existing rotting and dilapidated oak river facia with a new low level design.

Retain the high level of build quality in keeping with the bespoke surroundings of Salisbury Cathedral Close.

Solution

Cain Bio-Engineering Ltd removed the original facia and replaced it with a low level environmentally friendly river frontage.

Sustainable oak boarding and recyled plastic posts were installed to create the new facia, allowing the clients better access and views of the River Avon and surrounding watermeadows.

Constructed from oak, the new river frontage seemlessly fits into the bespoke surroundings of the Cathedral Close in Salisbury.
