Inter-tidal channels

Tidal

With years of hazel mattress sediment-trapping and practical fluvial geomorphology under our belts, it was a logical progression to scale up riverine structures to work in inter-tidal environments. Working in 2004 for the Environment Agency via a specialist sub-consultancy to Halcrow and Nutall Hynes, we designed and installed a pioneering scheme on the Breede river at Rock Channel, Rye to trial the use of brushwood sediment traps in inter-tidal environments. Trials exceeded expectations leading to the construction of an award-winning scheme at Monk Bretton bridge. We have since undertaken numerous inter-tidal bank stabilisation assignments for the Environment Agency, the most recent being in October 2014.
