Weir by-pass channels

This nature-like weir by-pass channel on the River Loddon near Arborfield, was designed and built in 2011 by Cain Bio-Engineering in collaboration with Dominic Martyn of the Environment Agency, Reading University, Arborleigh Angling Association and Thames Water Plc.

Inspecting the LWD pinch point after completion

18 months later the new channel was electro-fished. Over 500 individual fish were recorded covering 13 different species in a 250 meter stretch.
