Weir by-pass channels

This nature-like weir by-pass channel on the River Loddon near Arborfield, was designed and built in 2011 by Cain Bio-Engineering in collaboration with Dominic Martyn of the Environment Agency, Reading University, Arborleigh Angling Association and Thames Water Plc.

18 months later the new channel was electro-fished. Over 500 individual fish were recorded covering 13 different species in a 250 meter stretch.
